Blue Catapult Adopts Three New Candidates
Tuesday, June 1, 2006

Blue Catapult PAC has announced that it has adopted three more candidates to assist in efforts to help the Democrats gain control of Congress in the November elections. The candidates are: Angie Paccione, running in Colorado's 4th Congressional District, Phyllis Busansky, running in Florida's 9th Congressional District, and Dan Seals, running in Illinois' 10th Congressional District.

Angie Paccione
Currently, Angie is a state representative who is taking on incumbent Marilyn Musgrave. Musgrave has been called one of the "13 Most Corrupt Members of Congress" by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW). With a PhD in Education, Angie has dedicated her career to teaching and helping students achieve. In the Colorado legislature she was the Chair of the Democratic Majority Caucus. Her legislative achievements include increasing funding for the Colorado College Opportunity Fund, making health insurance more affordable for returning military personnel, and helped make mortgages more affordable to Colorado residents.

Phyllis Busansky
Phyllis a former Chairman of the Hillsborough County Commission and served as the first Executive Director of Florida's welfare-to-work agency. She is running for the seat opened by Mike Bilirakis' retirement and will probably be running against his son. In 1995 Phyllis was named "Public Official of the Year" by Governing Magazine. She is on the faculty of the School of Public Health at Columbia University where she teaches a seminar in leadership and coalition building.

Dan Seals
Dan is challenging Representative Mark Kirk in one of the congressional districts that voted for John Kerry but still has a Republican Representative. Dan is a graduate of both the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, where he received his M.A. in International Economics, and the University of Chicago where he earned his MBA. Dan worked for the Department of Commerce as a Presidential Management Fellow. More recently Dan worked in the business world, taking management positions for Sprint and GE Financial Services.

Blue Catapult will help these worthy candidates throughout the next few months to get the resources they need to run competitive campaigns.
